OUR NEIGHBORHOOD
VERAVA
To contribute to the growth of our region, most of the inputs used on our farm are purchased in the neighborhood. We also seek to understand the reality of each resident and their family and offer educational, environmental and healthy living knowledge.
ALL THE KINDNESS THAT THE ENVIRONMENT DESERVES
And this involves people on the team, their families and the community that lives in Verava. People who have been stimulated by environmental education projects, personal and professional development on the farm, where each attitude beneficially affects the Brazilian Atlantic Forest.
We operate beyond the farm’s borders, we interact with the community. We are her partners and always learn from rural life. We want guests to experience this too, to interact with the region's residents and, thus, the distance between the city and the countryside becomes increasingly smaller.
CONNECT WITH OUR COMMUNITY’S WAY OF LIVING.
We are part of World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOFF) and worldpackers, global movements to promote cultural and educational exchange. Through them you can participate in the day-to-day life of our farm, get to know the residents of our region and their way of living, and finally try something new and sustainable.

VALUES
Werner Haberkorn left Germany due to the Second World War, chose Brazil as his new homeland and established himself here as an important photographer portraying São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in the 40s. He is the father of Ernesto, one of the pioneers of information technology in Brazil, a reference not only in how to undertake, but in healthy living philosophy. With love, Ernesto invested in a venture that could accommodate the attributes and knowledge of his 3 children, uniting a psychologist, a journalist and a geographer. This is how Morros Verdes Farm was born: with 4 knowledge that multiply. Restless, they brought to life a complete project: for them, for the Atlantic Forest, for the Verava community, for you and for future generations.
Patricia Haberkorn, eldest daughter of Ernesto and Rosa Maria Sodré, is currently responsible for managing this large family project. He has a broad and plural perspective on all activities on the farm and in the neighborhood. She is a trained psychologist, has an MBA in business management in Spain and is a researcher in natural sciences and medicine, an area in which she also trained in Ayurvedic therapies in India. With the union of this knowledge and experiences, the team that runs the farm orchestrates. She loves traveling and sports and is mother to Nina, Maite and Max.
Alexandre is the youngest brother, geographer, permaculturist, beekeeper, entrepreneur and nature lover. He brought all the principles of sustainability to the enterprise. Therefore, he is responsible for the volunteer program and all planting and reforestation on the farm. With his wife Luciana, he lives in Ubatuba where he took the concepts and experiences of sustainable tourism, creating the Banana Bamboo Ecolodge. He built the Banana Bamboo Ecolodge so that people can genuinely experience sustainable tourism. He brought all this rich experience to the farm and the good results spread to the neighborhood. He loves surfing and is the father of Micael and Clara.
Daniela is the middle daughter of Ernesto and Rosa, a journalist, who knows the importance of communication. He chose the beauty contained in the details to compose the decoration of the chalets with charm and refinement. Ceramist, he signs the hotel's pieces with the brand of Atelier Terra Boa, which he founded with his mother. Passionate about traveling, she is Lorena’s mother.

EQUIPE
